This tutorial is based upon Gaim. If you do not have Gaim, you can get it here.

First things first, launch Gaim.

Screenshot-Accounts-Enabled1.pngAdd an account by clicking the Add button from the Accounts window.

Screenshot-AddAccount1.pngFollow the prompts adding your own unique username and password, but keep the server line the same.
Click the Advanced Tab at the top of the Add Account window.

Screenshot-AddAccount-Advanced2.png Make sure the port is 6667, add your username and Real name as I’ve done.

Clicking Save will automatically attempt to log in.

Screenshot-NickServ1.pngThis is the NickServ. NickServ’s job is to help you join a channel. To join #utos, type /join #utos.

Screenshot-_utos.pngCongratulations, you’ve made it. Thanks for coming to help us!!
