Utah Open Source thanks the community!
Hi everybody,
I am so happy today. So extremely happy. Excited that the Utah Open Source Conference (UTOSC) was such a success! Flattered by the response. Amazed with the presentations and knowledge floating around all weekend long.
But….
Most of all, I am so happy that you loved the conference so much, and want to have another one next year. So we will!
I personally wanted to thank you all for coming to the conference. Thank you for participating and proving what I already believed. That Utah Open Source is alive and well. Its truly amazing to see how many people came and how many enjoyed themselves. I felt so honored to have organized the event.
In addition to the thank you, I just wanted to share one experience with all of you. This experience happened on Saturday during the morning keynotes (before Tim Riker was to speak). Jayce^ asked who would like to come to the conference next year, every hand was raised! At that moment, I knew, absolutely knew, this was what I wanted to accomplish. I had chills for over 5 minutes after that moment. Thank you Utah for this opportunity.
I hope that others share their thoughts and feelings about the conference. We’d like to hear what we did well and what we didn’t do so well. We think there is much to improve upon and are already planning for next year’s conference. We realize we set the bar pretty high, so we’ll have to double our efforts!
Watch this blog or join our mailing list for announcements and news about what Utah Open Source will be doing in the very near future.
Cheers,

Utah’s Open Source Growth
I am personally so excited to see the growth of Open Source in Utah. We have such a vibrant community here and I think we can be so much more. Bruce Perens, this years keynote speaker has the vision to lead a national or international explosion of Open Source in Business and Community. I think we all can benefit from hearing what he thinks about Utah and Open Source, about the economic benefits and limitations of Open Source in both the business and user group communities. And because of this, I think Bruce’s presentation is very well timed.
I also believe that the Open Source community in Utah is powerful. We have the power to change how Open Source is percieved, not only in Utah, but around the world. I believe in the benefits of Open Source for individuals, businesses, and the community. I believe in what we’re doing as a whole to help break the average user from the chains of proprietary (and limited) software.
- I believe that businesses want Open Source Software. I also believe it can make them more profitable.
- I believe that Open Source is the solution for the future in many other ways than just software.
- I believe that Community is how the software world will improve, and using Open Source methodologies will bring us together.
- I believe in Utah Open Source.
So I invite you all to come to the Utah Open Source Conference 2007 - The Convergence… I invite you to expand your horizons, and learn about what amazing things are going on in Utah’s Open Source community. I invite you all to attend what’s promising to be the premier Open Source event in Utah, The Utah Open Source Conference. We’ll be there to help you find a seat at the keynote and at the conference to make sure you get the best experience.

We need your help
Hi all,
For the last few weeks, we’ve been trying to get our ranking up in google, yahoo and other search engines with little to no luck. With utter refusal to use cheap, dastardly tricks to get our rankings up, we come to you, our fine constituency. What we need is back links to our site, this is a very simple request, really, it is…promise!
All you have to do, is create a link that says “Utah Open Source 2007″ or something like it, and have it link to us here at http://www.utos.org. Can you do it? Yes, you can! Let’s all take a message from “Bob the Builder” and come together as a team!
Thank you in advance.
Cheers,
Herlo
