Birds of a Feather Session - The Smart Electric Grid

An exciting new BoF session (http://www.utosc.org/bofs/) has been added to the docket for the Utah Open Source Conference 2007.  I invite anyone who’d like to contribute to this amazing project to read on!

The organizer of the session is not a programmer, but an economics professor at the University of Utah. He is involved as stakeholder in Governor Huntsman’s Climate Change Initiative. He is planning to present the governor a proposal which not only leads to energy savings and pollution reduction but also turns Utah into a major player in an emerging technology. This proposal is only feasible if it has the buy-in of the open source community. The Utah Open Source conference is a good platform to get feedback from the Open Source community about these ideas.

The point is that we can make a difference in Utah and this amazing idea is being discussed at the Utah Open Source Conference!  Don’t miss out on this opportunity to discuss open source techniques that may change the way we run our electricity!
